The Gala for Ellis Medicine
Join us in honoring Dr. Michael Jakubowski and David Buicko & Christine Mallozzi at The Gala for Ellis Medicine on January 25, 2025.
The 2025 Gala offers a special opportunity for Ellis to recognize David for all he has done for our region, and specifically, all he has done for Ellis Medicine. His leadership and vision for a strong and healthy community connects for profit and not-for-profit businesses and unites industries with a common mission: to make the region stronger. Dave’s efforts have contributed to a revitalization, energy and economic synergy that paves the way for growth now and for the future. As President and CEO of Galesi Group, he has revived underutilized land and historic buildings into viable, profitable community assets and is showing no signs of slowing down with a commitment to bring regional sports tournaments and conventions that will benefit the entire Capital Region. Our region is stronger, healthier and economically better off because of David and Galesi Group’s vision and hard work.
Dr. Michael Jakubowski has been serving the people of Schenectady and a part of the Ellis community since the mid 70s. Fresh off of seven years with the U.S. Navy, he started as an anesthesiologist with Schenectady Anesthesia Associates and over the years held several titles including President of the Medical-Dental Staff and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Ellis from 1990 to 2001. During his tenure as VP, he was able to make his mark on the health and wellbeing of the broader community, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the state DOH, the state Hospital Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the county Health Department and other organizations, participating in projects, serving on boards and working to educate the public. Dr. Jakubowski has been a staple of strength and leadership in our community and continues to lend his time and expertise by serving on boards and committees to this day. We are grateful for his many years of unwavering service to and support of Ellis.
Proceeds from The Gala will be invested in cutting-edge technology to better care for our patients.
